Re: Trunk doesn't pop open



The trunk lid latch is actuated by a two piece rod that runs from the lock
cylinder to the latch.  The remote-unlocking actuator is also attached to
this rod with yet another rod.  I'm guessing that the plastic piece of the
two piece rod came apart, rendering the whole thing inoperative.  What
you'll probably need to do is enter the trunk through the back seat (aren't
folding seats great at a time like this) and remove the trunk lid liner.
Then, you'll be able to see the mechanism and also manually open the lid.
BTW, what year car do you have?  I think this happened from time to time on
the earlier cars (93-95?) but not so much on the later cars.
