My two cents says that for practicality and fairly decent handling, you
might consider the Dunlop D60A2.  No, it's not necessarily a high
performance tire, but it holds up well and delivers pretty good performance
for the money.  Mine have about 25000 miles on them, and they're still
holding up pretty well.
