A friend of mine just bought a 2000 Jetta GLS with the Monsoon system
and she had the following question.

Do you know where I could find the answer to a question about my
stereo?  It's not
in the manual, and I know the dealership won't know.

There's a "turn on volume" you can adjust so that the stereo always
turns on at the same level (so you don't bust your eardrums when you get
in).  But when I'm
listening to a CD, the lowest level you can turn the volume down to is
not low at all,
then it kicks off (to "MIN") and it's like it's muted.  The lowest level
you can listen to the CD is not even low enough to carry on a
conversation (in my opinion).  I have turned the bass/treble and mid
range down, and it will go a little lower, but I don't think I should
have to give up it sounding good to  be able to listen to it in the
background.

Is this confusing enough?  The radio will go pretty low before it shuts
off "MIN".
Anyway, just thought I'd see if you knew someone who might know, or
where I
might find out.  I think that your stereo is like the one in the Cabrio,
so it's not the
same.
