Slightly OT, but... I have a freind with a 90 Cabriolet that grinds going into second. Sounds as if the second gear synchronizer is bad. I also understand that this is a common problem with VW manual trannys. My 95 Jetta GLX does this too sometimes. Has anyone ever had their VW tranny serviced for this problem?
