OEM VW CD changer- some help please

I picked up my car the other night (Jetta GLS V6 2000)- what a blast!

I have been trying to install an OEM CD changer but am a little confused.

The changer has 1 cable coming out which needs to be plugged into something 
in left rear compartment, right? I couldn't find any wire but after some 
poking, I found an outlet of sorts. The only problem is that the cable does 
not seem to fit on it. Actualy, that outlet seems to be clamped down- do I 
just need to unclamp it in order to plug it into the CD changer? Or should 
I be looking for a cable in the back- could something be missing?

I thought this would be stupidly easy- I had no difficulty with the in-dash 
install!

Would appreciate any help.
