How do you know that you have the non-programmable one?
I have the prog-wiper relay installed on my '98 GLX and
it works fine.

Here are the steps to get it to work:

1)  Turn intermittent wiper ON and immediately OFF.
2)  Then wait the desired 'interval' time and turn back ON.

This will cause the wiper to intermittently wipe ON/OFF
using your specified 'interval' time.  The 'interval'
time can be between 2-30 seconds (or 45 seconds - can't
remember)... where the default is approximately 6 seconds.

Remember that you can also just turn it to the ON position
and it will automatically wipe in the default 'interval'.

programmable, but I think I got the regular old relay. The p/n I bought

What's the p/n for the programmable?
