I use 10w-30 here in Colorado, The label on the Mobile 1 says it flows
at -49 deg, the 5w is something like -56deg.   If it gets down to -49 deg I
am not going outside.   and if it gets that cold you should have the VW
block heater, that would probably only be the Alaska cars and maybe Michigan
and Can.
