Mostly, however, it's for those of us who (rather wisely, I might add, in 
light of a bad experience I once had with a loose e-brake cable) leave 
the car in gear when we park. Putting the clutch in as an automatic 
reflex whilest starting saves the engine from immediately stalling. Ever 
done that? Poor coche!
