Nah, not in this case.

Yeah, but it wasn't that bad. I was able to work the next day. Today, I'm
fine. It was more of an inconvenience than anything else. Saying I had any
"pain and suffering" worth compensation would be stretching the truth.

Besides that, the guy wasn't drunk, driving recklessly, or being blatantly
negligent. None of us expected to have to go from 70 to 0 very quickly, and
maybe at that second he had his eyes off the road. It was really an
'accident'. He admitted that it was his fault and he got a ticket. His
insurance company is going to be buying a new car. Beyond that, he was not
only concerned that I was OK, but he also wanted to be sure that I was able
to get home or at least had a place to stay. If the guy was a complete
asshole, I might consider going to the trouble of the chiropractor and
lawyer visits, but that wasn't the case. I'm just chalking up the minor
discomfort to the risks that everyone takes every time they step out of the
house - you know, the 'shit happens' factor. I'm just happy that nobody was
really hurt.
