Geneva Motor Show

Hi list,

A new Beetle Buzz feature is up that may be of interest to you:
coverage of the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland. The show's on
now, from March 9 to 21, and features a V5 Bug, THREE-cylinder
Lupo TDI, Golf and Bora V6, as well as Golf and Bora/Jetta
wagons. It's here:

An interesting development noticed at the show: You know
America's venerable 2.0-liter eight-valve four-cylinder? The one
offered in the Golf, Jetta and New Beetle? Well, it's now part of the
Europe model line -- in fact it's the top gas engine in the new Golf
wagon, one of just two gas engines offered in the Bora/Jetta wagon.

Makes you wonder if Volkswagen Of America will in fact retire the
engine from Golf and Jetta duty for 2000, as some media speculate.

Also, interesting to note: The new 204-horse V6 is available only in
conjunction with 4MOTION. That's in Europe, of course. Sorry if I
got anyone's hopes up! Hopefully we'll see this in North America!

Thoughts?

Stefan
