I didn't read the article, but I think that price includes shipping to and
back from BMWNA's workshop in Montvale, NJ, the only people and place
authorized to work on them, AFAIK.  I worked there for a few days last year
and missed the F1 from Texas (I think it's the one that was in some
magazines) by a day or two.  As a consolation I did get to see the New 3
series and the M coupe a few months before they hit the market.  Big deal.
