Bora stuff



New thread time!

Bora pics and info.  I used

Autobild text, which follows.  This is the Bora and not the Jetta IV - we
won't have the same options and engine choices and of course our cars will
come from Mexico (which is OK by me).

The turn made courage: With the trade wind sedan for the first time a
Wolfsburger notchback drove into the hearts of the buyers. Now does the next
turn follow? The new Bora is to lead the gulf folder with notchback from its
shadow existence.  Starting from 6 November it replaces the Vento, which
already fell at the beginning of the yearly from the program. Bora is
however more than a vent on oh follower. VW wants to ascend with it more
highly outside, to BMW (three) and Mercedes (c-class). After the Viertuerer
further folders are planned: Combination and Cabrio over 200 HP and
all-wheel drive are to also let the Bora grow to its own model family The
new sedan makes purely outward for few wind (even if it were designated
again after one). The optical model supplies without a doubt the trade wind.
Above all the suggested domed roof and the silhouette remind of the
successful middle class sedan.  But while the front still tries to make its
own and clever face to the rear each whistle is missing. With this Design VW
guaranteed nobody before the heading to push. No corner or edge, against
which the tastes could rub. For what also? Notchback sedans are bought
traditionally by rather conservative customers, and those wants now times no
experiments.  Rather already perfection. Noble door handles, largely cut out
wheel housings, enormous vehicle identification plates at front and tail.
That is the new Pieech language. Seeming and quality are correct. A little
it became smaller. Instead of the 500 litres of the Vento the Bora trunk
seizes only 455 litres, and at the rear workstations heading liberty is not
gone in the abundance. Under the sheet metal and in the interior is
otherwise all gulf, which shines. With the armatures also blue instrument
lights were taken over. Likewise the quality of workmanship, the materials
and the formed out seats.  Also the chassis comes from the compact brother
and is in series on 15-Zoll-Raedern. No miracle, which is platform the same.
The front axle fits nuance with springs more tautly, the Bora dives into
curves somewhat fewer, but the comfort does not remain thereby on the
distance. Leichtfuessig swallows it also violent bumps. The power steering
operates low-friction and target-exactly. Good acquaintance under the hood:
Engines of 90 (Diesels) to 150 HP. Already the base Benziner has 100 HP and
goes sufficiently quickly to the thing (0 to 100 km/h into 11.7 seconds, 188
point). The course gradations fit, and the circuit functions with used
precision.  Additionally still four further engines are available. The
1,9-Liter-TDI with alternatively 90 or 110 HP, in addition the long-known
two-litre with 115 HP, as well as Topmotorisierung of the V5 with 150 HP.
This version gives it however only as Highline for proud 44430 Marks.
Otherwise the prices orient themselves at the predecessor. Loosely goes it
with 32500 Mark, which most expensive model, which 110-PS-TDI Highline
automatic costs, 45900 Marks. The three configuration lines (trend -,
Comfort and Highline) we know from the gulf, the trend LINE models are only
at the beginning of 99 available. A zentralverriegelung, disc brakes at all
four wheels (inclusive ABS and electronic braking force distribution) and
divided the hinged back bank belong to the series scope (base 150 Marks
surcharge). The Bora - like its predecessor - is built exclusive in wolf
castle. There is now again
workstation.  After brother Polo pulled to Spain.
