Brake light...

Ok, here's a new one for me:
I have removed the DRL and have installed the Euro-Switch.  I know that the
"Brake" light does not function now.  Here is the question, I was driving
home today and I had to depress the brake pretty hard and I noticed that the
"Brake" light came on, then went off (prob. only lasted an 1/8-1/4 of a sec.)
Does anybody know what this means??  I have had some squeaking coming from
the rear brakes recently.
