Stereo System Install

Question for those who know about the Bose system in the 97' GLX (10 spk
w/100 watt amp) :

Is it possible to add a subwoofer and amp?
how?

The reason I'm asking is because I want to put to JL Audio 10s with a Punch
55.2 amp, I have the money, but a few of the local stores have said its not
possible with the Bose system.  Is this bullshit?  Anyways I really want to
put in a system so any advice at all is welcomed.
