RE: So I am stupid with my new GLX

I just installed a Clarion ProAudio head unit, bought from Crutchfield,
in my '97 (not Bose) and it fits fine. Installation wasn't too bad, the
hardest part was trying to stuff all those wires and adapters around that
stupid metal bracket in the back. It is not "flush" with the dash (sticks
out about 1/4"), but it doesn't bother me at all-the edges are rounded
somewhat so it still looks good. HUGE improvement in sound quality. One
thing that bothers me a little is that fact that this head unit does not
have the dimming feature. At night the thing is so bright I don't see a
need for the dome lights anymore. Maybe I'll get used to it.

I have a question though-Crutchfield sent me the Fuba adapter. It plugs
right in, but there is a white wire sticking out of the adapter, which I
have no idea what it's used for or what it needs to be connected to.
Anyone know what this white wire is for? FM reception is still strong,
but AM appears to be a little weak. I know next to nothing about this
subject, so please forgive me if this sounds like a stupid question.

Thanks,
Kevin

Adam,

Crutchfields charts are very conservative. Zeek and I, both, have Blau's
in our
98 and 95 GLXs. They fit fine and match the dash better than anything
else I've
seen. Oh, Blau is also conservative on their specifications. I've heard
Zeeks
LV with the factory Bose speakers and it sounds great.
