One thing you probably already stated but I missed it - is this a warranty repair??

If so, pretty "nice" of them NOT to accuse you of causing the damage, as so many else
here have gone through!  Especially with that much "damage" (read: defective parts), 
and I ASSume you have a fair amount of mods on your car? - another thing that seems 
to cause them to want to reject warranty stuff right away...
