Questions, Questions, Questions...

I own a 98 GLX - couldn't be happier, though the cruise control apparently
does not work, will be returning to the dealer on that one...

My question is:  I have a 92 Jetta Carat - Automatic :(  I am in need of
some general reapirs and body work - anyone out there have any referalls on
where I can take it...

Also - is there a way to economically convert the automatic to a 5-speed?,
perhaps its just a dream, but damn... that would make me a lot happier...
even though it is my Wife's car.

And finally, I am admittedly new to mods, can someone please explain to me
the benefits of upgrading chips, and how much I can expect (in $ and
Performance)?  Also, what does it do to the mfg warranty?
