RE: ID'ing VR6's -- WAS Re: Almost as bad as sticker mods

I usually look at the exhaust. What goes in must come out.

I've learned to pick out the elements that signal a sure fire
VR6 under the
	hood.

The only ones I've found are the five lug wheels (hard to see
when you're
driving), or if you've got a keen eye, the 15" wheels (the
fourbangers got
	14"'s).

You can try to see if the Jetta has the following combination:
fog lights,
darkened lenses, black rocker panel covers, spoiler, and center
mounted
roof antenna, and if so it could be a GT, Trek, or Wolfsburg
edition.
Usually, those are a giveaway by their badges or lack thereof.
If they only
have SOME of these, then it's really a GL that's been upgraded
with fogs,
	etc.

Of course, the big giveaway is the huge grin on the other
drivers' face. If
it matches yours, then he's got a GLX too!
