This may not be the same problem but im willing to bet it is. My problem occured
at about 2K and although there wasn't any noise I couldn't depress the  clutch 
at all.  Your dealer should have a bulletin on this. VW has corrected the 
defective spring and is replacing them on an as needed basis.  Someone else on 
the list had a simlar problem not to long ago.  I had lost the invoice/receipt 
with the part number at the time but i think i know where it is - i'll have it 
for you tomorrow.

I just noticed it sounds like a loud spring when I press and depress my 
clutch. It is super loud and can be heard inside and out of the car. The car 
has 17K on it. anyone else with this problem?
