New Suspension - Alignment

Well, it was off to NTB at lunch today, for a fun time at the old alignment
rack.

I'm certainly glad I have both the list and my Bentley. At first, the front
desk guy said they would be glad to line up my car, for $69.99 for 4 wheel
alignment. Then if the rears needed to be shimmed, the shims would be $20
each. That's right, 109.99 so far. Then, since I asked for a non-stock
camber up front (-1 degree), I would need some special "cam-bolt" to adjust
the camber. They are "only" $39 each (1 for each side). So, they would be
happy to line me up for a grand total of $190. After I stopped laughing, I
insisted on talking directly to the technician. We went back and I told him
that I didn't need the back wheels aligned, just the front. I also told him
that the Bilsteins have slotted holes for EZ adjusting. He said, "cool,
it'll only be $39".

After about 45 minutes, I had my -1 degree camber, 1/16" total toe-out
alignment, with no problems for $39.

I wonder how many "cam-bolts" and shims they sell every day....
