Mine skips if I hit a big bump going faster than about 35mph, and I have
mine installed under the rear deck. I have a Clarion 6CD changer (model
635).

I think it's clear it has something to do with the model of car you have.

Also, I don't know how much the suspension of the GT differs from the GLX,
but if they're different, it may have something to do with it. I do know
that the GT has a different transmission (I think that's what it's called)
because at least the wheels have four lugs instead of five. Does that
impact the ride (and hence how often the CD skips?)  I don't know.
