BOSE SYSTEM..PLEASE CLAIFY.

I own a '97 Jetta GLX with the Bose system.  i want to add my Alpine CD deck
to replace the stock cassette deck.  Has anyone on the list done this?  How
easy was it to adapt the deck into the system.  Last time i check there was no
line converter that they usually have for Bose systems when adding a
aftermarket deck.  I heard the aftermarket deck can be hard wired into the
Bose Amp is this true?  If it is what parts are involved with this?  But if
anyone knows about a line converter for the Jetta Bose system let me know
also.  If anyone has done this also is there any loss of sound quality from
the Bose speakers?  Also has anyone added a aftermarket Amp to power subs or
other speakers?  Does this take too much power away from the electrical
system?  Anyones help would be appriciated.
