OBDIII (Was: Re: doh! -Reply)



All of the OBDIII rumours that is going around is not totally
false.  I read in several magazines (incl. scc ec & turbo) that
the OBDIII movement is backed by CARB.  All of the functions
mentioned - including the use of sattelites to determine speed,
location, and engine monitoring - was mentioned.  Some of the
reasons CARB used was to crack down on speeders, stolen
cars and air pollution.  Its sad to see an institution whose main
purpose is to clean up the air - clean up (kill) the after market
industry.  I will try to look up the articles in the magazines I
have to back up what I am saying.  BE SCARED!!

BTW: OBDIII will know exactly what modifications were
done to the car (ie no swapping chips for warranty).
