     It is a recirculating pump for the coolant.  Helps the engine cool 
     down evenly.

When I turn off the motor I here a small motor running on the right side of the 
engine. It runs for 10 to fifteen minutes then shuts off. I was thinking
that it mau be something with the emissions control and venting 
gasoline vapors through a charcoal filter or something..... 
anyone know?
