hi all, chris collier here,
well i had the honor of being invited to stop off in chicago on my way
home to minneapolis to see several guys on the list;
i was waiting at the local Barnes and Nobles bookstore for everyone to
show-up; the first on the scene was Mike B. in his flash red gti;
he and i stood for awhile and talked as others slowly emerged on the
scene; i believe that Myles was the next, then Jamie, then Doug;
i won't bore everyone with the details as Mike has already posted the
blow by blow to the list;
i will have to say that i had a blast, and it was really nice of the
guys to invite me to hang out;
i am in the process of moving to Louisville, Ky and plan on making
regular trips up to chicago to play with my new friends;
unfortunately, mike and myles had to leave early in the evening to
return to the city, since we were all meeting and spending the day in
the "burbs";
later on in the evening, we all went out for a drive, myself, Jamie,
Doug, Brian from emmons coachwork, and dougs' roomate(eventhoug he
drives an Acura, we let him come along; he doesn't know this but we used
him as a buffer between us and the law; he took up the rear of the
group, you know, the first one to be pulled over; don't let him know
this though) we all had alot of fun, rallying through the streets of the
industrial parks;
mike did a good job of describing the sound of all the p-flowed vr6's,
definetly a T-Rex!!!!!!!
i ended up crashing at doug's house; he and i sat up for a few more
hours talking about.......cars; you can never talk too much about cars;
all in all, i had the time of my life, and look forward to returning to
chicago to see my friends;
we all agreed that it is something special that vr6 owners share...the
bond; where else can you talk over the computer to a bunch of guys/gals,
then link up with them and carry on as old friends;
To CVO, on a personal note, you guys really made me feel as if i was
among old friends; i like the way the group hangs together, and look
forward to being invited back for another visit;
i am serious about organizing a weekend for everyone to come down to
Kentucky; drive the countryside, through the horse farms, and then all
of us ascend on the Autocross on sunday;
keep in touch, and good luck with everything;
Doug and Jamie- let me know when you get the pics uploaded to the web, i
am curious to see all of our cars together at Emmons Coachworks
see ya guys,
