I'll bet a nickel that the aforementioned switch is a US-spec '94 Golf
Sport switch. In the eyes of the all-intelligent DOT, you shouldn't be
able to have your fogs & parking lights on at the same time. A whiny
thought which is marginally related: why do people drive around at dusk
with just the parking lights on? Do they think it saves money on the
electric bill?
