No they are just tweeters housed under there. There are two per grill
set at 90 degree angles to one another. If you don't want to bother
taking off the grills go into your nearest BOSE home speaker dealer and
ask a salesmen to take the grills off a pair of SERIES 301. They have
the same setup with the tweeters. It's a Bose trademark. I just picked
up my jetta and although the FM isn't too great the imaging is actually
excellent (and this is coming from a guy who put $3k in his last car
stereo)...Oh and the reason you don't feel it is because the frequencies
being produced by the tweeters are way to high for you to feel
them....anyways, hope this helps.
