Actually, 195/55's are closer to the proper diameter... But the little bit
of extra rubber you bought is a good idea for potholes... ideally, you'd
put them on steel rims.

I bought 4 Nokian Hakkapeliitta NRW 195/60R/15 88 H M + S for my 97
Jetta GLX.  Can you please tell me around what is a good price to pay
for these tires and if these are a good size for my VW (I live in
Boston MA POTHOLEVILLE if it matters)?  I have only gone around 5 to
10 miles on them in the snow and all I can say is WOW WHAT A
DIFFERENCE...  I also drove on some wet road
with no snow and they still feel alot better than the GA's  

P.S
What does 88 H M + S mean.  I think the H stands for the speed rate
