...Yeah, I checked my owner's manual before, and I think the 4.3 quarts that it
talks about is for the 4 cylinder.  It doesn't make much mention of the VR6 in
that owners' manual.

My dealer used to fill my car with 7 quarts!  I was SURE that was WAY too much,
so I got the service manual, and read that it took 5.8 quarts.  Been changing
my own oil ever since...

Oh...  and I read a few months ago in POPULAR MECHANICS that VW had "changed
the oil fill capacity specification for the VR6 from 6.2 quarts to 5.8 quarts".
 I thought that was interesting...
