These nightmarish rumors of Kobe signing as a free agent with the Knicks.
That would be a bad thing. Hard to believe Bryant would eschew the
difference in dollars, but it's not like he has to cry "poor mouth", and
the challenge of establishing himself as the dominant athlete in the New York
market, polar opposite to LA and Shaq, likely greatly intrigues him.

How would the Celtics compete with a Knicks team that had Bryant and Marbury
with their off-season options apparently so limited?  The answer is they can't.
Not good news at all, if it happens.
