RE: ''You wonder where Ainge is taking the Celtics'' - MacMullan (Globe)

I doubt you were thinking that thought in 2002 when we were 2 games away
from the finals and the Celtics had the greatest comeback in NBA history and
Pierce was really the Truth. If you were you're a better basketball
visionary than me.
Obie was the best coach this team has had since KC Jones and the early Chris
Ford years.
Gaston, Aigne and the new owners are the one who derailed this train
destroying team chemistry and makeup. Aigne was clearly upset in the press
conference for he did not expect Obie to walk away leaving $6 million on the
table.
Now it's up to Aigne and Wyc to fix it. I hope they do for I do not want a
repeat of the 1990's. Aigne is very reminiscent of Pitino who put on a big
show, ran off with the money and traded away picks like Billups (#3 pick in
1997). The only thing Pitino did is he gave us Obie.
I expected last night game's effort by the Celtics for that's what every
team strives to do when they are involved in very depressing situation.

If I may, you don't really believe for a moment OB and Toine were our future
did you? Or is this just for the sake of argument? What would it take to
convince you we're moving forward? Did you see last nites game?
