Re: Coach Jimmy At It Again

George Karl cant be an option if Pierce is on the team. I dont have any major problems with Cowens, but would like to see what else is out there...

What does everyone think of George Karl or Dave Cowens as the next Celtics

Subject: Coach Jimmy At It Again

From Saturday's Herald via Steve Bulpett:

``'Our Achilles' heels have been rebounding and turnovers,' said Jim O'Brien, who now has to wonder whether Danny Ainge will opt for more surgery (trades) to try to relieve the pain."

_______________________

It's good that O'Brien finally figured it out, but he has no one to blame
but himself,
for leaving the team's best rebounders buried deep on the bench and IR, and
sticking
with scrubs like McCarty and Blount.

The high number of turnovers is a combination of things and blame:
Jimbo for taking wing scorer and rebounder Pierce and trying to
use him as a Point Forward; Pierce for actually committing the turnovers;
Ainge for not going out and finding the team a pure point point guard;
O'Brien's point guard qualifications emphasizing 3-point shooting over
passing and ability to run a team; the injury to LaFrentz; Ricky Davis
for being turnover prone; Banks' rookieness and not being as good
as advertised.

The above was written before the Chicago game, and Coach Jimmy
did do the right thing and remove Baker from the starting lineup.

However, then he starts McCarty! Oh boy!

So, now you have Blount and McCarty playing together for large periods of
time.
Swell.

Deliver the Celtics fans from this evil, Danny Ainge, and deal off
Blount and McCarty.

To keep Coach Oboe happy, Danny find a mobile PF who can rebound,
since mobility is what Jimmy and Dick require, which is one of the big
problems
with O'Brien.

Rather than tailor Harter's and his system to the quality players currently
on the team,
Hobo starts the scrub talent, because they fit into his system.

The more talenteed players: Mihm, Perkins, and Hunter sit.

Ainge is going to look like Ronnie Howard after a few years with Jimbo,
from pulling out all his hair.
