Re: Dr. Jack disses Cs potential and PP

Ooops my bad on Mills - been a long day.

I still stand by the rest. Baker is still untradeable - regardless of whether Danny brought him in or not. Thats one max contract guy we can do nothing with except cut or buy out. LaFrentz represents our third biggest salary. He makes a ton of dough over time. I dont see anyone wanting him - he literally had more value to the Celts than anyone else. Given the contract amount and length, coupled with knee problems and a history of not living up to his potential I dont see anyone taking him off our hands till the last year of his deal. So, if you have neither one of those guys to trade and your owners wont pay the tax, you are then left with the rest of the roster. Ricky Davis has some value, but not enough to land someone good enough to transform the team. Banks, Hunter and Perkins have very little value as of yet. Blount has some, but again not that much. Its going to be hard to transform this team via trade. The only hope is that Vin can be voided. Otherwise, we need to get lucky with our midlevel type (promised from mills) and our actual midlevel and hope our young guys develop quicker than expected and that via the draft we land someone who can step right in. Am I wrong here?

Mills + a pick? That would be 2 expiring deals (with one paid by insurance)
and a guy heading into the last year of a max contract....

Mills came as part of the Walker trade and Baker came before Ainge. You
couldn't make the trade your suggesting.

LaFrentz is a Pierce guy. They played well together before the IR. They
will again. Put KMart beside him and the whole picture changes.

Think of LaFrentz as your third guy.

Now go find a real #2 and a passing PG.
