I tend to view all these approaching the new season reports as somewhat 
dubious.  This is a tried and true reporting technique - talk about the 
new guys and interview the team about what they will mean.  The team 
then says this guy is good - better than we thought.  Season starts and 
he is in the words of Bill Parcels a jag - just another guy.  Its the 
same with the story about Battie.  Why should one presseason report 
change how we expect Tony to perform?  Does that in any way change or 
alter his career performance?  The book on Battie is that he is better 
than a jag, but not a star.  He works hard, is somewhat injury prone, 
and while not an el busto is far from a starter on most NBA teams.
