Re: [Celtics' Stuff ] What to do, when you are dealt five threes?-Herald

This is what scares me about Obie and Banks. We need Banks to be creating
offense and at this level of his development, he needs to be playing on the edge.
You saw what he can do in the first half when he is doing his thang. Yet Obie
is concerned about his turnovers and seems to want to put him back in the
box. If I was coaching Banks, I would be easily take the tradeoff of what he did
in creating offense versus the turnovers. Some of the turnovers weren't his
fault as players weren't ready to receive the pass. He also didn't get credit
for assists that players got fouled on. True, he started forcing it a little in
the second half. However, I foresee a future where Banks is creating and
leading much of the offense on this team in the future and why not let it flow?
Maybe Obie is just coaching and trying to get him to improve. But based on Obie's
history, I'm afraid he is going to take his offense from him....

<< Marcus Banks [news] stepped up with some eye-popping moments,
especially with a pair of break-triggering steals in the first half.
But O'Brien is not about to satisfy himself with a stat line that last
night included four points, three assists and, gulp, six turnovers.

``I have to watch the tape,'' O'Brien said of evaluating his
rookie point guard. ``You can't have half the team's turnovers in 18
minutes. I have a world of confidence in him, but it's hard to be a
 rookie point guard.'' . . . >>
