Your right.  I forgot the period is added.  It's 3 in the middle of a
sentence.

Actually, at the end of a sentence it is four dots, so in this case,
Gene is correct.

It's just 3 dots Gene, per Webster.  It's also "ellipsis".  Sorry, my
wife is a grammar AND spelling freak.
