The Cs were down about 10 and come up the floor. Walker takes the 3 with 16
seconds to go on the clock. 16 seconds. Hey Obie, try this: "Guys, tonight
I will fine anyone who tries a 3-point shot $100 per attempt. OK, 50 if you
make the shot. And if you try a three with more than 10 seconds on the
clock, it's doubled."
And what would that accomplish? Obie is not in control of this team, even
if he has the nominal power to fine his players; Toine is. If you think
they're not playing hard now, wait till they really quit on Obie. Like a
permissive parent, Obie is just reaping what he has sown. He wanted threes
- whether to appease Toine and/or because they're an integral part of his
offensive philosophy, such as it is - he got threes, and then some.
