Re: The Boston Celtics Mailing List Digest V10 #85

mark,

i was fudging a little, but russell would be a great
power forward, no? your point about the all-time PF
spot is well taken.

i had stockton on the team until i thought about how
great tiny was in his prime. isiah was great, too, but
you have to draw the line somewhere. fact is, you
could put together a 2nd team that would be very close
in talent to the first, which is what makes doing this
all the more fun.

watched the celts last night against NJ. sad, sad
effort. antoine can be the worst player on the floor
on any given night. scheesch. i have high hopes for
bremer--as an undrafted rook, he's only going to get
better. kedrick is frustrating to watch, but i think
we need to give him a couple more seasons. some kids
come along slower than others--he's molasses in terms
of development, but when/if he gets confidence, he
could be a keeper.

enjoy the ncaa. watch tj ford do his thing.

You're fudging with Russell and Walton, since both
were pure centers.
But I
love that starting five. Power forward is surprisingly
difficult when
you're
putting together an all-time starting five. McHale at
his peak would be
my
choice, but he really only had about four seasons at
his very best.
Elgin
Baylor? Barkley? Karl Malone? There isn't a no-brainer
pick like at the
other positions.

I'd probably replace Tiny with Isiah among the
reserves. And I'd get
Dr. J
on there somewhere. And Cecil is right about Wilt and
West. They have
to be
among the reserves. But so do Cousy and Havlicek.
Geez, this is
tough...
