Re: meanwhile, down south ..

Hmm, no message included. This deal should really help both teams, though I suspect that the Magic got the best of it short term. Gooden wasnt doing much in Memphis - blocked by Gasol and not really winning the playing time wars with Shane Battier. Sean Giovanello wrote:

Has anybody noticed that the Magic are 7-1 since

trading for Drew Gooden? He's averaging nearly 20 and
10 as a starter for them.

One of those wins came before the trade so really it's 6-1 with the one loss being a double overtime game in New York on the night they retired Ewings jersey. They just destroyed the Bucks last night. Gooden had 26 points, 16 rebounds, 2 blocked shots. Giricek had 15 and 5.
Miller was 3 of 11 for 12 points, 5 rebounds, 0 assists against Denver in his first game back from back spasms.

Hey, it's not like I didn't warn this group. I knew that trade would be exactly what Orlando needed. <A HREF="http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/basketball/magic/orl-sptmagic05030503mar05,0,818737.story?coll=orl%2Dmagic";>
