Re: Re: [Celtics' Stuff Bimbo's agent, lobbying C's?-Globe
Now I don't know which is correct. The Orlando Sentinal had this to say about Chris Whitney:
"To be eligible for the playoffs, Whitney would have to be waived by Saturday. [March 1]"

Cavs waive G Bimbo Coles
SportsTicker
CLEVELAND (Ticker) - Three days after being placed on the injured
list, <A HREF="aol://1722:clevelandcavaliers">Cleveland Cavaliers</A>
guard
Bimbo Coles was placed on the inconsequential list.
The league-worst Cavaliers waived Coles on Friday, a move that serves
the best interests of both sides.
Coles, 34, averaged 4.9 points and 2.7 assists in 21 games this season,
his 13th in the NBA and third with the Cavs. He was retained during the
offseason to mentor rookie guard Dajuan Wagner, who likely will see
increased playing time for the rest of the season.
Coles did not fit into the future plans of the Cavaliers, who are in a
rebuilding mode and have a record of 11-46. Veteran forward Tyrone Hill
was waived Thursday. If Coles is signed by another club before midnight,
he can play in the 2003 playoffs. A member of the 1988 U.S. Olympic team,
he has career averages of 8.0 points and 4.0 rebounds with Miami, Golden
State, Atlanta and Cleveland.
