Request for everyone

March Madness is just around the corner, and I was hoping everyone could
suggest some players they might be familiar with who would be worth checking
out. You tend to see the same players all the time during the season, but
suddenly get all kinds of new players and teams this time of year.

Here are a few from the Big Ten and surrounding area. Most are pretty well
known.

Brian Cook, Illinois-talented but inconsistent inside-out big man
Lavell Blanchard, Michigan-jack-of-all-trades swingman
Daniel Horton, Michigan-talented freshman, but would be surprised to see him
declare for the draft
Reece Gaines, Louisville-big combo guard who plays point guard for
Louisville. Good shooter, but not really a point guard. Sounds like a
natural Celtic.
Dwayne Wade, Marquette-A bit of an undersized shooting guard. Not a great
shooter, but very crafty scorer. I actually like this guy, and I never like
this type of player. He could be another Joseph Forte, but there's just
something there that impresses me. Not sure what it is.
Keith Bogans, Kentucky-Another slightly undersized shooting guard. Strictly
a one-position guy. Good mid-range game, good body.
Jules Camara, Kentucky-Doesn't put up huge numbers, but he's long and
athletic and may develop into a Keon Clark type player.
David West, Xavier-Has put up some huge numbers (including a 47-point,
18-rebound game against Dayton, Obie's former school). A Marcus
Fizer/Corliss Williamson type. Great college player, but a little undersized
for the NBA.
Jeff Newton, Indiana-low-post power forward, but doesn't impress me as NBA
material. Can score in the post in college, but he's not especially strong.
Would be a project. Think Kirk Haston without the jump shot.

That's about it among the players in this area. Of course, I've seen the
Kansas duo, T.J. Ford, the Duke guys, Arizona, etc. because they've been on
national TV so much, but I'm sure there are other list members who have a
better feel for those guys.

Forgive the off-topic post. Just enjoy "scouting" at this time of year and
thought there might be some others out there who do also.
