RE: Bill Reynolds: Antoine Trade Talk Isn't Over
A good article. I think the time has come but as this article says can we
really get anything? I think there are always underachieving teams like
Portland, The Knicks or Dallas that might be willing to offer someone
similar that has fell out of favor.
I would do Walker for Wallace straight up or a package with a Wells,
Patterson, Woods, McGinnis or Anderson. Patterson is a hard-nosed defender
type we don't have.
Chicago, the Clippers, Golden State, even Denver with Hilario, White and
Tskitisvilli have a lot of youth and could want a veteran but maybe not at
AW's price tag. Walker for Camby and White would give us a rebounding/shot
blocking 4 and some athleticism at the 3 spot.
A sign and trade for Olowokandi and maybe Chris Wilcox, Melvin Ely or
Magette would add depth. Would you give up Walker and Battie for Olowokandi,
Wilcox & Magette?
Olowokandi
Baker, Wilcox
Magette
Pierce
Banks
Rahim could give us a solid 3 to move Pierce to the 2 spot. Atlanta also
drafted Travis Hansen who we have heard ainge liked.
Hansen career Highlights: Was a consensus First Team All-Mountain West
Conference selection as a senior, and was named Co-Defensive Player of the
Year with Marcus Banks of UNLV.
Houston has been dangling Mobley, Griffin, and Cato who ranks in the top 5 in
rebounds per minutes played and adds the inside support we don't have to
battle the likes of Wallce and K-mart.
Minnesota in a package for Marc Jackson & Sczerbiak and Rod Strickland?
Miami in a package including some of Dwayne Wade, Alonzo Mourning, Travis
Best, Eddie Jones?
There are a lot of potential options that could improve this team and fill
our weak spots. We just need to keep working the phones.
