Truly, truly pathetic

All David Stern needed to say was, "Marcel Lampje" at
27 and I would have been very happy. At this stage of
the draft, if you're taking a gamble on a
developmental big man, why not take the 7 footer
people compare to Nowitski? Hell, keep him in Europe
for a year and let him develop. I just see "Thomas
Hamilton" written all over Pinetop Perkins.

And what the hell does Jerry West gain from this
little dance? If he wanted Bell and Jones, they surely
would have been available at 27. West could have
traded 13 down to, say, the mid-20s and gotten
somebody to give him an extra body or pick. Not swift
on either team's part, from what I can see. But at
least West gets two serviceable players, whereas
Boston only gets one.
