Re: Insider: C's Want Pavlovic/Banks/Carbakapa

Two of the names mentioned aren't new. The third is-Zarko Cabarkapa. Based
solely on the highlights I've seen of Cabarkapa, I'm kind of hoping he ends
up with the Celts. He's a solid 6-11, appears to really run the floor well
and looks rock-solid fundamentally. Some sites list him as a small forward,
but he looks like a natural power forward to me. I just really liked the
look of him in the few clips I've seen. I know that's not enough, but that's
all I can go by.

As for Banks and Pavlovic, we've pretty much said all there is to say.

The rumors of the high school big man are interesting. James Lang, maybe? He
strikes me as an Oliver Miller type center prospect-and I mean that in a
good way. Miller could have been an all-star if he hadn't eaten himself out
of the league. Lang's body type and skills sound similar. As someone posted
earlier this week, he certainly looked athletic in that short clip from his
Miami workout.

Insider also says Chris Bosh is all but locked in at No. 4 to the Raptors.
That would leave the Heat choosing between Ford (who they apparently don't
like and doesn't seem to fit there), Podkolzine (who seems too much of a
project for Riley) and Lampe, assuming the Heat don't trade out of that
spot. If they take Lampe, that leaves Podkolzine for the Clippers and
probably drops Ford all the way to Milwaukee at No. 8 (assuming the Bulls
take Pietrus or Wade). Then you have the Knicks taking Kaman at nine, and
Hinrich suddenly is sitting there at 10, where Washington probably would
snatch him up-but who knows what the Wiz will do? The point is, those top 10
picks remain somewhat fluid.

Celtics all set?
The <http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=bos> Boston Celtics
<http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=Bos> are still running
workouts. However, according to one source inside the organization, they
already know who they want at No. 16 and No. 20.
"The workouts we're doing now are contingency scenarios in case the guys we
want aren't on the board," the source told Insider.
While the source refused to divulge the names of the players the Celtics
want, league sources have told Insider that UNLV's Marcus Banks
<http://sports.espn.go.com/nbadraft/d03/tracker/player?playerId=18487> ,
Montenegro's Alexsandar Pavlovic and Zarko Cabarkapa
<http://sports.espn.go.com/nbadraft/d03/tracker/player?playerId=18463> are
at the top of their wish list.
Banks and Pavlovic both had impressive workouts for the Celtics. The team
also likes Cabarkapa, even though he hasn't worked out for them. Cabarkapa
left the U.S. two weeks ago after just two workouts to attend to a family
matter.
