EUROPEAN BASKETBALL AWARDS.
I found this article somewhat informative.
Some interesting names are included and some of the draft names we are
hearing today are left out. Yes, I know, p-o-t-e-n-t-i-a-l.
I know the format won't come out like it should but usually when I try to
clean it up before I push send it ends up being a waste of time. So, I'll
include a link at the bottom just in case it's unreadable.

EUROPEAN BASKETBALL AWARDS.
For the 7th consecutive year, French magazine "Basket News" has made the
"European MVP's Annual Poll".
58 journalists from 18 european countries participated in the poll picking
the MVP's of the season.
In Europe, this poll is as important as the NBA Player/Rookie of the year.
Best European Player
Dejan Bodiroga keeps wining trophys. MVP in the World Championship, in the
Euroleague Final Four ... and also the 4th time he is selected the best
european
player of the year.
I think that everyone on the Top 10 of this list would have a good chance to
make an NBA roster (even Turkcan played some games in the NBA when he was half
the player he's now).
This ranking is dominated by 'Euroleague players' (the first eight), but we
can find some great players on teams not playing the Euroleague, like
Tomasevic, Kakiouzis, Herrmann, Felipe Reyes or former NBA players like Dino
Radja or
Kornel David.

Best US Player:
Tyus Edney (UCLA,1995) has won this award twice. The first time in 1999,
while he was playing and winning the Euroleague with Zalguiris. After a good
rookie season in Sacramento, he has chosen being a star in Europe instead of a
bench player in the NBA.
Marcus Brown (Murray St.,1996) and Joe Blair (Arizona,1996) are completing
great seasons in the Euroleague and in the Turkish League.

Best Young Player (Under 22):
Fotsis has made a huge season in Panathinaikos. Last year he was still too
raw and couldn't get quality minutes with the Memphis Grizzlies. He'd be a
lock
in the lottery if he was in the draft pool this year.
First round prospects Victor Khryapa and Boris Diaw are second and third,
while the 'unknown' for NBA scouters (I've never seen his name when talking
about
NBA prospects) finishes fourth.
Is not a surprise that Pistons 2nd pick Darko Milicic is #7. Playing in a
small team in a weak league avoid him to get more votes.
