Good news today but a little headscratching.

Brandon is signed to a two year contract. That is great but doesn't that 
limit us on what we can resign him for in the third year?

I also like the Mike James move. I personally was not a fan of Best. I never 
remembered him as a uptempo player as he was being advertised and I wanted him 
to pay for not signing with us last year. Then he agent still brings out the 
quote that his lifelong dream was to play for the Cs but didn't add that that 
included at the top dollar contract.

 I liked Mike James when he was with Miami and he has some upside. He 
reminded people of Tim Hardaway a little. He has range to the three and a nice 
crossover. However, my recollection is that he didn't have much playmaking ability. 
I think he makes a much better long term fit and he can grow with the other 
young guys. That is why I like Danny so much is that he looks long term instead 
of short term like Wallace and Obie do.

I had to think a little with this Best business. Did they offer him a 
contract or not? Was he the first choice or was he the competition to get James to 
sign for the minimum? Best's agent makes it sound like Wallace made the offer 
for the minimum, they said they would think it over and were waiting for Danny 
to get home to negotiate. If they really thought that Best was the no. 1 
option, I would hope they could have come to an agreement rather than the hardball 
stuff. But, apparently Best is the competition to get James to sign for cheap 
just like Wallace and Batiste was the competition to get Walter to sign. So 
apparently, Best wasn't given a formal offer, just courted and asked if he would 
consider playing for the minimum.

Shira also mentions interest in Jumaine Jones. Not a bigname but I like him 
also for this team. He has some upside and would fit in well in the uptempo 
style. With James putting us at 15 contracts, signing Jones would mean the end of 
either Sundov or Bremer which I will shed no tears for.....
