No, Celts would probably win more games with some of the younger guys on the
floor. I am not sure about Hunter and Perkins, but Banks and Brown should
definetly get major minutes. We would lose nothing..

Don't believe me? Look carefully at some of the "production" of the guys that
we used last year.

In 99-00 Walter McCarty shot .339 from the floor and averaged 3.8 points.
The year after that he shot .357 from the floor averaged 2.2 points. And this
is already from an older "veteran". There is a reason why he barely played.
He is "barely NBA" guy.

In 00-01 E. Williams shot a whopping .362 from the floor and averaged 7.2
points.
Neither Williams or McCarty can rebound worth a damn.. E. Williams is another
marginal NBA player. That's the truth. Neither of these guys would dominate
in the summer league...

Honestly with PP and AW you could replace the entire 11 other guys on the
team with minimum pickups from the FA market and still win 40+ games. The Celtics
"bench" had virtually no talent whatsoever.. Save perhaps a glimmer of hope
in K. Brown.

We aren't talking players on the Kings here.. Anyone can see that our rookies
could EASILY match the production of some of the "veteran" guys who were
getting time. Heck even the much malinged K. Brown would have vastly out rebounded
McCarty and E. Williams if he was given similar minutes last year.

The plays that Williams and McCarty made come almost solely off of the
existence of Paul Pierce and AW. PP demands a double team and sometimes a triple
team routinely. Even summer league guys could score off that kind of defense..

Your vastly overrating the talent of some of our guys. We don't need to give
all our rookies 20-25 minutes.. But there is nothing wrong with playing say
Banks and Brown alot, IMHO. SF and PG were very weak positions last year and
that combo would significantly outplay them. Brown should only play with Banks,
BTW. He isn't much of half court player..

Hunter (if he makes the team) and Perkins might be able to find some time..if
they look good in practice. Probably no more then 5 minutes for Perkins and
ten for Hunter though.
