RE: Celtics/Nets

Maybe it's just because the Celtics are in my blood, but I hate NJ so much that I don't want any of their players on the C's. I can't stand any of them. That would be like someone saying back in the 80's... "Boy, it sure would be nice if we could get Rambis."

I like Aaron Williams. he always plays hard But is more a backup 4 than a
5, but may be better than anyone we have.

Some guy named Marquis Daniels is lighting it up for Dallas in the summer league. Has anyone ever heard of him?

Now that the Nets are up to their eyes in centers, what do you think of having the Cs push to acquire either Aaron Williams (say, for Tony Delk -- the salaries match exactly) or Jason Collins (probably a longer shot, given his age, but may be disgruntled about being supplanted)?

I still look to sign Mark Blount and either Erick Strickland or Antonio
Daniels for the minimum. Assuming a Williams-Delk trade and those
signings, the roster shakes out like this:

PG: Banks/Bremer
SG: Pierce/Strickland (or Daniels)
SF: Brown/E Williams
PF: Walker/A Williams/Hunter
C: Battie/Blount/Perkins/Sundov
???: Baker

I was troubled by the report in the Herald today that O'B doesn't think
Hunter can make the team. Didn't they learn anything from last season?
How much worse than Wolko and Sundov would Songaila have been? (I was
amused by O'B's description of Hunter as "tough-nosed". I've heard of
"tough"; I've heard of "hard-nosed". What does "tough-nosed"? mean?)

Maybe it's a good sign they've given Hunter Eddie Pinckney's old # (54).
It'd be nice to see a contribution like that out of him.

Finally, I'm intrigued by one entry on the Sixers' roster: 6'4" guard
Cookie Belcher. I have no idea whether he'll make the team, but if he
doesn't have an NBA future he may want to consider pairing up in some
business venture with Cleveland Indians outfielder Coco Crisp.
