Rookies dot Celtics' summer league roster

By Kelvin Ma, Globe Correspondent, 7/9/2003

he Celtics will take their newest members for a test drive starting Monday in
the Reebok Pro Summer League, the club announced yesterday.

The Celtics' 2003 draft picks, Marcus Banks, Kendrick Perkins, and Brandon
Hunter, will join veterans J.R. Bremer, Kedrick Brown, and Bruno Sundov in the
seven-day, 30-game league at the University of Massachusetts-Boston's Clark
Athletic Center Gymnasium.

The club will begin two-a-day practice sessions tomorrow at the Sports
Authority Training Center at Healthpoint.

Practices end Sunday, when the 22-man minicamp roster is cut to 12-15 players
for the summer league.

The Celtics could get a preview of LeBron James in the Monday opener against
Cleveland unless the No. 1 overall pick chooses to go to ESPN's ESPY awards
July 16.

The Celtics play the Spurs on the 16th, the Knicks July 17, the 76ers July 18,
the Hawks July 19, and conclude against the Nets July 20.

Steve
