Re: That's Better

Well, last night was certainly fun after the losses lately. Resting Paul

It was great and about time. I just don't understand why Obie couldn't figure
out earlier that he needs to get the other guys contributing, if only in the
second quarter, to find P & A some rest so that they have enough left for those
decisive 5 minutes in the second half. Kedrick and Waltuh can give Paul a
breather in the first half by concentrating on shutting down their guys - as KB
did so effectively against Mash. They don't have to score much - just hold the
fort by playing tough D (not that Kedrick can do much else in games). As for
Antoine, Obie's claim that he can't afford to rest him goes right back to the
issue of not "needing" a competent PG. No one else can run the offense while
Toine is out, but Obie and the Brain-Dead Trust forgot while planning the team
this summer that even Toine can't play 48 minutes a night . Not to mention
that, with all those 3-point shooters like Sundov, Wolkowyski, Bremer, and
Kedrick, who needs a PG? Unfortunately, perfect shooting form in practice
apparently doesn't always transfer into game situations, even for would-be Top
7 picks like Sundov. So, we basically have a seven-man rotation, counting the
very occasional contributions from Baker and KB. What a fabulous job Wallace
has done assembling this team! Pitino should have given a bunch of 1st round
picks to Miami to obtain Wallace's invaluable expertise, instead of a pitiful
single 2nd rounder. It would've been less aggravating than watching the BDT
waste most of those picks. If the new owners don't fire this guy soon, we on
this list need to write to them and appeal to their business sense, by pointing
out that they can save some $$ AND make better basketball moves by firing Dumb
& Dumber and using a random number generator or a dartboard to select draft
picks and FAs.

PS Speaking of wasted picks, there was Moiso with his sad french poodle eyes,
allegedly contributing for N'awlins these days. He must've been fired up to
play the team that gave up on him (although the words "fired-up" and "Moiso"
just don't go together), but he was only slightly less useless than he was in
Boston.
